Abstract Portrait Study

Over the last two years I've begun to think more about my practice when painting letters and intertwining these into my portraiture. When focusing on capturing someone’s gaze, you’re capturing a certain presence or emotiveness. When I paint letters, I’ve always felt a connection to the movement and energy within a piece and a similar emotiveness or gesture a certain structure portrays. This is a constant urge to find that equilibrium between both of my practices to find a coherent style.
