Full Circle Paradox
Description
This painting sat in the studio for over 12 months, having added to it on 3-4 separate occasions, always knowing it wasn’t finished but I always loved looking at it. The angel was initially a one-line study that entered me into the realm of social media and posting pieces drawing viewers into the theatrics. I wanted to contrast this fast paced and graffiti-esque styled line drawing, with a more renaissance styled painting of an apple. The torn away top layer demonstrates a more refined painting, similar to my practice and this continual differentiation between fast paced mural work and patient studio works. The piece itself explores themes of my past in painting graffiti and the idea of being tempted.
